We are thrilled to announce that MM Abdulla, a distinguished Member of Parliament from the Republic of India, recently visited Sunderland to launch the innovative website of SENDelight Gifts. This groundbreaking platform offers a unique ecosystem for purchasing toys and accessories tailored for children with special educational needs and disabilities.
MM Abdulla emphasised the pivotal role of emerging technologies in enhancing learning experiences in schools. “Innovative tools and platforms like SENDelight Gifts can significantly improve educational outcomes for children with special needs,” he remarked.
The visit included a comprehensive tour of Harry Watts Academy, where MM Abdulla met with the Head Teacher, Mrs Louise Hindmarch. He observed firsthand the exemplary support provided to children with special educational needs and praised the teachers for their dedication and care. He was deeply impressed by their commitment to creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. These valuable insights will inform his efforts to implement similar support systems in Tamil Nadu, India.
Additionally, MM Abdulla visited the University of Sunderland to see our founder Vijayalakshmi Subramani’s Purple Plaque, the only plaque for a student in the University’s history. He felt proud of this remarkable recognition.
Accompanying MM Abdulla were Vijayalakshmi Subramani and Dr Selvakumar Ramachandran, parents of Jameskarthik Subramani. This involvement underscores the collaborative effort between educators, parents, and policymakers to foster inclusive education environments.
